What is a Tilting Check Valve?
Tilting check valve, is a type of
non-return valve that allows fluid to flow in only one direction and automatically closes to prevent backflow. It opens and closes through the hinged/tilting motion of the disk structure; this design can provide more balanced and responsive flow control in certain applications. These types of check valves are used in pipelines to prevent flow reversal in situations such as pump shutdown, pressure changes, or process interruption. Proper selection should be made according to flow direction, line pressure, temperature, fluid properties, and connection standard.
Main Application Areas
- Water and wastewater lines
- Pump discharge lines
- Industrial process facilities
- Energy and auxiliary piping systems
- General line backflow protection applications
Technical Notes
- One-way flow control provides.
- Automatically blocks reverse flow.
- Disk and body material may vary depending on the application.
- Installation direction should be done considering the flow arrow on the product.
- When selecting, pressure class, diameter, and sealing requirement should be checked.
Tilting check valve is preferred especially in lines where backflow could damage equipment or affect process stability. When making the final product selection, manufacturer technical documentation and application conditions should be evaluated together.
