High Pressure Test Plug with Aluminum Plates and Tensioners

The Aluminum Plate and Tensioned High Pressure Test Plug is a mechanical high pressure test plug in which the rubber seal is pressed against the pipe wall with high force by aluminum pressure plates and tension bolts. The maximum back pressure is 6 bar in all sizes, and it has a 1/2" by-pass connection. It is offered in two different plate constructions (Type 1 and Type 2).

Application Area

It is used to close the line in pressurized lines, transmission lines, and sealing tests that must be carried out under high back pressure. Options are available for nominal sizes between 200 mm and 600 mm; production can be made to order for higher pressures and larger diameters.

Technical Usage Notes

• The maximum back pressure of 6 bar must not be exceeded.
• The tension bolts must be tightened in a crosswise sequence and with equal force.
• In high-pressure tests, the safety distance must be maintained and the plug must be additionally secured.
• The inner pipe diameter must be within the narrow range in the table.
