Oval Pipe Plug

The Oval Pipe Plug is an inflatable plug used to temporarily stop flow or isolate the line for testing in oval-section pipes, culverts, and channel lines. Its oval body form fits better into non-circular sections, creating a wide contact area with the inner surface. The product is offered in two different configurations: a sewer blocking type without by-pass and a test type with by-pass connection; in both types, the maximum operating pressure is 1.5 bar.

Application Area

It is preferred during maintenance, repair, and leak-tightness checks in stormwater and wastewater ducts, oval culverts, and non-circular section lines. The by-pass type allows controlled discharge of the flow or application of test pressure while the line is closed.

Technical Usage Notes

• The appropriate size should be selected from the technical table according to the oval internal dimensions of the line.
• The maximum operating pressure of 1.5 bar must not be exceeded.
• Before installation, the inside of the line should be cleared of cutting and sharp residues.
• For the by-pass type, the connection size of the by-pass line should be prepared according to the value in the table.
